Welcome!
I'm so glad you stopped by!

Hi! I'm Gina. My blog, Love Auntie, started as a writing project for my niece and has grown into something larger and better than I imagined: a lifestyle blog that focuses on the positive aspects of adulting and aging.

I am a proud Aunt to my biological nieces and nephews, and I’m also an Auntie to other children who are not physically related to me. It’s an honor, and I want to be a part of something greater for them.
I also chose the name Love, Auntie for my blog because not only am I speaking to another generation, I am speaking to anyone who needs encouragement while facing another day. “Auntie” to me is a term of endearment, and although I may not be physically related to you, my reader, we are related by our common struggles, desires, and need for one another as we get older.

My blog is a journal of sorts of my journey as I seek what makes "older" worth celebrating in a world that tends to glorify the "younger." I'm heading toward 40, and I think a positive outlook is important because if I die tomorrow, or I die when I’m 999, I’ve not lived a life where I’ve cringed at each new year.

I can’t change the world. But I can change my world view. And while I’m not a superstar, I do influence others. I want people to know there is good fortune in being “older.” I want them to (hopefully) look back on younger years with contentment (doesn’t everyone?) but most importantly, without an insatiable longing to return.

Welcome to my blog. I hope it's a place you will find encouragement and positive words.

Balancing My Thinking

My blog is about enjoying aging, but in order to do that, I’ve had to balance out my thinking a bit. Maybe you are like me. I tend to focus on “the good” when I’m missing something in my past.

Do We Blame Too Much On Aging?

I can’t keep up with my favorite work out gal, Kelli, on Fitness Blender. Well, I guess I can typically “keep up” – I’m just not as limber as her. Her moves are so graceful and lithe.

Forgetfulness

Older people talk about how forgetful they are, and while only in my late thirties, I’m starting to notice my own forgetfulness. But, I actually don’t care. I’m not ashamed of it.
